Meet Circle VHA HR Manager: Rachel Gallagher

My name is Rachel Gallagher, and I am the HR Manager in Circle VHA. I hold a Masters in HRM and have over 5 years of experience working in HR. I have spent most of my career to date working in the areas of housing and homelessness. I can honestly say I love my job and below is a list of my three favourite things about working for Circle VHA!

  1. Our people: We have an extremely friendly, approachable, and supportive team of people working in Circle VHA. We are a diverse workforce with people coming from all different backgrounds and skillsets.
  2. The flexibility: I feel that our organisation has adapted extremely well to the Covid-19 pandemic, they have even committed to an agile way of working in the future and this is written into all employment contracts. This will allow employees to work either remotely or in the office. I like this for two reasons as not only does it allow for a better ‘work/life balance’ but it allows us to employ candidates from across all over the country as there is little need to be based in Head Office.
  3. The cause of our organisation: I always have (and always will) believed that people have a right to housing and that accessing and retaining a home is key to being happy and successful in other areas of life. I love the ‘Tenant First’ approach that Circle has committed to and the ‘WE HEAR’ values which align closely to my own personal values.
